Remote Care at Wilmington Trauma Center Inc

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth—also known as teletherapy or telepsychiatry—allows you to connect with Wilmington Trauma Center Inc providers from the comfort and privacy of your home or any secure location. Using your computer, tablet, or smartphone, you can attend appointments through secure, HIPAA-compliant video visits. Our goal is to make trauma-informed care accessible and convenient, especially for those who may face barriers to in-person visits.

Our Technology & Security

We use Google Meet, a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, to ensure your privacy and confidentiality. You can join sessions from any device (iOS, Android, or computer) with a reliable internet connection.

  • Your telehealth visit is private and confidential, just like an in-person session.
  • No appointments are recorded or stored.
  • All communications are encrypted and HIPAA-compliant.

How to Prepare for Your Telehealth Appointment

1. Reliable Internet Connection

Ensure you have a stable internet connection to avoid disruptions during your session.

2. Private, Distraction-Free Space

Choose a quiet, private area free from interruptions. Consider putting up a “Do Not Disturb” sign and turning off TVs or loud devices.

3. Camera and Lighting

Select a well-lit space and make sure your camera is working properly. This helps your provider see you clearly and enhances communication.

4. Connect Early

Log in a few minutes before your appointment to test your connection and resolve any technical issues.

5. Ask Questions

If you have any questions about the technology or the process, please reach out to our staff. We are here to help.
